If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other options on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes if cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through a clean.
It's extremely quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one motion. Its 8,000pa suction motor makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as good. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys or books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet Robot Vacuums That Mop vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It's easy to install and is effective however, this is something you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home, detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and effectively. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching a wide range of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach areas. The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes a microfiber pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to protect specific areas of your home from being swept with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting pet hair. It was able to collect a large amount of hair that our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crevices of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was relatively silent and also had a few nice jingles that let you know when it was beginning or finishing its work.
The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app cannot store multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock which serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.
The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start a cleaning task, recall the robot, or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert on its application.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
