The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great choice if you're looking for a robotic mop and vacuum that's priced in the middle. It provides a fantastic mopping experience but lacks the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.
In tests, it was able to tackle dry oats and dust on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard flooring. It doesn't employ LIDAR however, as cheaper models do to map your home.
1. IRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It comes with a variety of features and impressive cleaning power, such as a dirt compartment that is built into the charging base. The robot also learns your cleaning habits and suggest schedules that are automatic to provide a hands-free and effortless experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the push of the button. You can opt for a general clean that prioritizes the removal of large debris such as rice and cereal or go for two thorough mappings of your home to ensure that your home is properly arranged.
This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It sucks up large items and does not lose suction as fast as some other models, and it can even clean up pet hair with ease. It's not the best time with plush or high-pile carpet, however iRobot claims it will get better with the next models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to be able to swaddle walls and furniture. It's a nice improvement over the hockey puck-like design of robovacs, but we found it to be only incrementally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also has a superior filtration system that blocks micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating within your home. It's a nice premise, but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price tag.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to remember the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map the interior of your home. It then cleans your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, as well as establish virtual boundary markers, so it is aware of areas that need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a robotic that combines vacuuming and mopping. Its vacuum settings are as good as those found on more expensive models. And its mopping system is superior because its spinning pads scrub your floors much more efficiently than a vibrating pad.
It's only downside is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, it's not a problem if you want to own one of the best robots available. The robo-vac's tank for dust is larger than many of its competitors, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it, even with the highest dirt level.
As for the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two mopping settings that it has that are less powerful than the high-powered settings, produce minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch television without being distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls and move on if it comes across one.
The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that automatically moves physical garbage into the bin hidden from view and also washes and drys mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app is adept at notifying you when something is in need of attention, like the clean water tank running low or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.
You can also create or merge actual rooms in order to customize the way that Q Revo handles your home. This is an excellent feature for those who have multiple areas of the home with different flooring materials or if there's some clutter that must be cleaned out frequently, such as clothes, toys and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was one of the top performers in my tests, removing dirt from carpets and hardwood floors in the first attempt. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a high-end robot vacuum and mop and more. It comes with an omni-rotating mop as well as a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It is similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has an auto-cleaning station that automatically washes and cleans mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also features a new sensor system that can better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.
The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it has a sleeker, more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It has a height of more than two feet both height and depth, and weighs nearly four pounds. However the robot as well as its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This version is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it has faster battery charging and can handle a full cleaning of approximately 1,500 square feet in one charge. And it has a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris, making it easier to empty it when needed.
Additionally, the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and voice assistant that operates offline, allowing you to use it even if you're not home. It also comes with more mopping modes and a smart routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean certain rooms or areas of your home instead just following a set route.
The X2 Omni is the best mopping robot. Its mop pads that rotate clean tough stains and its motor produces a lot of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is excellent, and it increases suction when it detects carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It also has a massive battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as efficient as anything we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium robot vacuum and mop that comes with a host of features that you do not often find on robots in this price range. It is able to build detailed floor maps, identify various flooring types and is among the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These features are great but they also push the L10s into the luxury category. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners would need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is slim and tall, with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture when you are moving around your home. In the pane in the front is a second navigation technology in the form of sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button that is used as an on/off switch. By pressing this button, you can activate the vacuum, while clicking it again will shut off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The control panel has the circular menu which lets you choose cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will open up the settings menu of the app where you can modify the way that the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of cameras and LIDAR technology to map your home. This helps the robot mop and vacuum efficiently without getting stuck. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and recognize them and avoid them, which is a great feature for homes with pets or small children.
The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris from our hardwood floor test and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops are also quite efficient, clearing 98.4 percent of debris from our wood, tile, and carpet tests. However, it wasn't quite as great at tackling sand on the floor or Quaker oats on carpet.
